Training Opportunities

2018 Training Sessions

This June we are offering three training courses: UNDERSTANDING IBC 2012 FIRE ALARM REQUIREMENTS, A USER’S GUIDE TO SIMPLIFYING NFPA 72 AND THE NEC, and FIRE ALARM PLAN REVIEW.

The UNDERSTANDING IBC 2012 FIRE ALARM REQUIREMENTS will be held on June 12th. Upon completion of this seminar, each participant will be able to identify the fire alarm requirements of the 2012 International Building Code by use group and occupancy load.  

The USER’S GUIDE TO SIMPLIFYING NFPA 72 AND THE NEC course will be held on June 13th. In this interactive seminar, each participant will learn about the NICET Computer Based Testing (CBT) process, learn CBT testing tips and how to locate information in NFPA 72, 2016 more efficiently. In addition, the fire alarm wiring requirementsof the 2014 NEC will be reviewed. NICET has updated the Fire Alarm Systems tests to these two codes, and this seminar isdesigned to prepare you to successfully obtain your certification. Sample quizzes will be given to use your new skills.

The FIRE ALARM PLAN REVIEW course will be help on June 14th. The course objectives include: 1. Review the Requirements for Plan Review and Submittals based on the International Building Code and NFPA 72. 2. Review of pre-plan and plan review checklists examples 3. Review secondary power supply requirements including battery-set calculations 4. Review voltage-drop limits including voltage-drop calculations 5. Review smoke detector location and spacing requirements including practical exercises 6. Review fire alarm audible notification requirements including practical exercises 7. Review fire alarm visible notification requirements including practical exercises 8. Review of pre-acceptance/acceptance testing checklist examples.
